about courtney

When you hear the saying, "The eyes are the windows to the soul," you truly understand its meaning when you meet Courtney Fine. With her large aqua-colored eyes, embracing personality, and true talent in not only the arts, but in helping others, it is no wonder why Courtney was featured as GQ magazine's "Next Big Thing" soon after she arrived in Hollywood.

A Kentucky native, Courtney Fine's journey began in politics when she was selected as one of only twelve high school students from across the country to work on Capitol Hill as a House of Representatives Page. Courtney transitioned to New York where she studied theatre at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and TVI Actor's Studio while simultaneously creating one of the largest volunteer programs in the history of New York City. While still in acting school, Courtney was appointed as the Director of Marketing for Mayor Mike Bloomberg's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting before following the advice of top producers and directors to leave for Hollywood. As the New York Post cited, "she left a plum job in Mayor Mike Bloomberg's administration to become a star."

Courtney realized that her influence to make a difference in people's lives would be even greater if she used her talent to perform. Drawing from her experiences as a trained dancer, award-winning writer, and actress in productions from Los Angeles to Philadelphia to New York City, Courtney decided to transition into Hollywood by using her own voice. Courtney's echoing entrance into the limelight may be found, in part, in the one woman show that she wrote, Me2. Based on a true story, Courtney tells of life that so many young women can relate to: how she came to understand her identity. Following a special engagement premiere showing off-Broadway in New York, Courtney collaborated with talented theater director/producer Brian Howie, received the assistance of John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted," and brought her LA based story home to the audience that she always intended. As Courtney says, "Who knows what's next? I'm just excited to be on this amazing journey that life has presented me." Ask anyone who knows Courtney what's next, and they will tell you with resounding confidence: big things.

Courtney Fine currently resides in Los Angeles and New York and she continues to hone her craft with training at the Groundlings in Los Angeles and has established her own production company, 29 Purple Turtles Productions.
